FAQ

1) Who is PM Moon Publishers, LLC?
PM Moon Publishers, LLC is a very tiny company dedicated to giving the new writer a chance. 

2) Where are your Corporate Offices?
Incorporated in Cheyenne Wyoming, our corporate operations share space with other offices in a small building, in Cheyenne,  and therefore we are able to share staff and cut expenses.

3) How long have you been in business?
PM Moon Publishers, LLC published their first title in 2007.

4) How many authors do you have?
As of this writing, we have six (6) authors under contract, with only two of our authors in print.  We expect that this will change by the end of 2010.

5) Do I need an agent?
No. No agent is required.  The whole reason this company was started was to address the needs of  the talented, but unagented, author.
 

6) May I see your contract?
Of course you may?  And, although our contract may deviate a bit from the usual industry standard, we feel that it is a good contract.  You are free to show it to any attorney at any time.

7) Will you change the contract if I don't like it?
If we want your manuscript badly enough, we will try to work out a compromise of some sort.  If we feel that we can work with you, and that you will help us to grow, we will definitely try to work out the clauses to which you object. 

8) Who is your distributor?
We have two distributors...  Lightning Source and Publishers Graphics Bookstore.

9) How much do you pay?
We pay between 12% and 20% to our authors.  We pay between 3% and 7% to our illustrators.

10) Who does the promotion of the book?
We both do. 
PM Moon Publisher, LLC launches an extensive promotion including post card mailing on each title, four color flyers, brochures, tee shirts, caps, key rings, and book bags .  In addition we provide press releases, book reviews, video trailer, and radio interviews. 
We expect that the author will do 10 authentic book events within the first year.  When we say authentic we usually mean that your event will sell about 25 books.  Otherwise, we will ask that you add an additional event.

11) Who pays for the books?
Most bookstores will order the books directly from one of our distributors.  Some authors buy their own books at their authors' discount.
You are never required to buy any books, but if the venue doesn't order books, we do suggest that you might consider it.  Your contract specifies that if you sell a book that you purchased at your discount, that is your money.

12) Do you have a catalog of your titles?
No.  We did not want to incure that expense at this time.  Each author  has tear sheets, sale sheets, and custom brochures. 

13) I can not find your phone number.
Actually, although we have a phone, we do not want to talk to new writers by phone. 
With today's technology, we feel that it is unnecessary.  We communicate through email, twitter, Facebook, and text messaging with our contracted authors. 

14) How can I contact you if I have a question that was not answered on this page?
We answer most emails within 24 hours.  Other than during a system crash, our email is monitered 12 hours per day/ five days per week.  Our main email address is publisher@pmmoonpublishers.com .
